This bloody pointless war…
Just what kind of war is this? When we fight to find an invisible peace.
Just what kind of war are we in, when the dollar kills our kith and kin.
Just what kind of war is this, when greed determines hit or miss?
What kind of war? I’ll tell you friend, the kind of war that has no end.
The kind of war where oil means more, than the blood awash at politicians doors, the kind of war where the innocent, pay the price for our government’s incompetence. The kind of war where our voice is not heard, when bodies come back and we hear the same words….”brave soldiers, young boys, so sadly missed” those politicians trot out names on a list.
This war that was at once born of lies, where heroes are made, and sons and daughters die. Where those who would be liberated are massacred and obliterated. Where children die and mothers weep, where fathers march and some forever sleep. In distant lands no threat to us, our governments sates its own blood lust.
It’s not a crime to object to the war, it’s not a crime to say “no more”, it IS a crime not to care for all our troops stationed over there, it IS a crime to forget about those, whose lives have been ended for what? Who knows.
I myself cannot say, how much it hurts to see each day, upon the news like “By the way”….another soldier, another life to pay.
Bring them home, let them rest, let them know they did their best, let them see their home again, let this pointless war…..END.
